Get to know our Senior Interior Designer, Morag Faulkner
We’re shining the spotlight on another one of our very talented team members this week – Senior Interior Designer, Morag Faulkner. Morag tells us how she entered into the Interior Design industry and gives us an update on the projects she’s currently working on.
Why did you choose to enter the Interior Design industry?
I have always been creative, but with a pragmatic, mathematical side too, and after a brief foray into Financial Accounting when I left school I decided that to be happy I needed to work in a creative industry, and felt that Interior Design (leaning more architectural than soft furnishings however) would be a good fit.
Can you tell us a bit about your role?
The job by its nature, is incredibly varied, and that is something I love – no two days are identical. My role frequently is that of a problem solver – from the space planning stage to site liaison & technical queries to getting the projects completed.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
Exploring ideas, identifying problems and coming up with solutions!
What are you working on at the moment?
Current projects include a luxury short-stay apartment development that is on site, and a full refurb of a mid-size hotel with great history but that is tired and in need of a facelift!
If we met outside of work, what should we chat to you about?
My son! Always a source of delight, he is my world! Other than that, I enjoy baking, tennis, skiing (if only budgets allow!) painting/decorating/DIY, and socialising – if there is a pool table, all the better!
